You Are Not An Island

You Are Not An Island

Sometimes I feel like things are just swirling around me. Like there’s no place for it to land. Like there is always a judgement or agendas attached to it all. Or more like I’m combating that and working to debunk them all as they arise.

You may have heard me mention this before but something I am insanely proud of is the level of self awareness I have cultivated over the years. In that I’m able to acknowledge things so much quicker than ever before and It allows me to process through things almost in real time versus having the “aftermath”.

Want Unlimited Inspiration?

Want Unlimited Inspiration?

Be your own motivation.

I feel like it’s far too rare that we acknowledge our own successes, our own strengths, our own magic, our own glow, our own beauty, our own purpose.

We look outside of ourselves for too much. We’re always searching for answers, for motivation, for inspiration, for approval and I’m not saying that’s always a bad thing but what I am saying is that it seems that most generally, people only do that. They always are searching outside.

You know where I learned the truest of true magic and value and answers lie?

Inside of me.

Reflection

Reflection

Something I do every day like clock work is look at my history. The memories on Facebook are cool and I like to see them and be motivated by my own previous content but man, my history on Snapchat stories is where it’s at.

Whole Picture

Whole Picture

What if I told you I can give you ass pats and high fives AND hold you to a high standard of accountability?

Did you know that both of these things are possible to give and/or receive within the same conversation?

Crazy right?

Are you apologizing for your success?

Are you apologizing for your success?

When did it become so normal to apologize for our success? Frankly, we apologize for entirely too much. So much so that the value of the words “I’m sorry” doesn’t really hold much merit in a lot of situations.

When did “I’m not available at that time, I’m sorry” become the way we all auto respond to things that don’t fit specifically into someone else’s request?

Whelp- It’s all very ass backwards if you ask me and it’s time it starts to shift.

Break Yourself Free

Break Yourself Free

Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.
-Lao Tzo

I learned a few years ago that the moment I stopped trying to “force” anything with anyone else and focused on mastering myself and only myself that everything… shifted.

And I mean, everything.

Too many people go put themselves through slow torture their entire lives by being overly concerned with what others are doing, saying, or being. It’s not your job to master them. That’s their job. And I promise you that you’re not doing ANYONE a favor by putting that much time into “trying” to “help someone”. Continue reading “Break Yourself Free”

It’s Been Four Years

It’s Been Four Years

It’s been four years since I followed that voice inside of me and left the body shop.

I walked away from something I loved but something that had taken over my life in a way that was so unhealthy and filled it with toxicity that I couldn’t see straight.

I will never forget the moment when he said “I can’t come back from this, can I?” And without even thinking I simply said no and walked out of the office.

It was terrifying. I had no idea what I was going to do or where I was going to go but I knew that the voice inside of me clearly, so so so clearly, told me it was time to go.

I didn’t know what was in store for me but I had one hell of a resume, a ton of skills, and this little side business I had started about a year previous called Posh Promotions… that and a really big dream to create a life I never really knew was possible but I knew I had to try. Why Struggle If You Don’t Have To Struggle?

Why Struggle If You Don’t Have To Struggle?

I had a client come to me about 6 months ago looking for some balance. She wasn’t happy with the way her life was running. She was running her own business but didn’t feel like it was enough and in turn, the rest of her life was suffering as well.

Her mindset was off. She thought she was barely getting by. She had convinced herself that she didn’t have enough time or money to join a gym, that there was no way she could carve out any more time to spend with her kids, and that this chaos she was experiencing had to be the only way to have “all of this”.

(That’s the funny part…we kill ourselves to be “successful” but aren’t happy…so really, what’s the point?)

She also had this burning idea of how she could help other professionals in her industry to create more income through teaching them what she had done in her business…she just had no idea how to actually make that happen, so she came to me wanting help with it all. Discipline

Discipline

Discipline. Nobody likes that word.
You either tune out the moment you hear it, or you swear you have it.
The truth is most if us don’t… there’s no reason to lie about it.
The even bigger truth is that it’s absolutely NECESSARY to create success.
Yep. Sorry to burst your rebellious little bubble but do you want it? Then you better learn to be disciplined.
Consistency doesn’t come without discipline.
Building your tribe doesn’t come without discipline.
Building the body you want or just simply getting healthy doesn’t come without discipline.
Your household won’t run smoothly or your kids be at all well behaved without discipline.
It really is the root of it all.
So how do you create discipline? Continue reading “Discipline”
