Be The Change

Be The Change

Sometimes I wonder if you’ve ever done to her what you did to me.

When the doors are shut and there’s no one around and you have no one else to take your anger out on. Do you turn to her like you did to me?

Then I think, if you haven’t…when will you?

I mean, it’s only a matter of time isn’t it? Continue reading “Be The Change”

Shine Light

Shine Light

I was asked to speak about living intentionally and fitting exercise into your life on a podcast today and I got to share my own fitness journey in the process… SO BLESSED!

It’s amazing to be able to shine light on overall wellness and changing your life. No, I’m not a personal trainer or a nutritionist but I am the other piece of that journey. The mindset, the planning, the focus, the habits, creating all of that takes intention mixed with action and it also just happens to be MY JAM.

The coolest part was sharing my own personal story and being able to shine the light on the other side of the coin as far as body shaming goes. It still remains a subject that is not spoken about enough.

But being recognized for the work I’ve been put in building my body into something that is exactly that; BUILT, strong, and powerful was an incredible honor that is new to me.

It felt good to talk about this topic and was a great reminder that I have literally CREATED THIS LIFE.

Just feeling so freaking blessed today and wanted to share the love out into the world

Smile

Smile

Smile and remember to NEVER let other people dim your light by projecting their own insecurities on you.
.
Just because someone you care about is all dark and twisty inside doesn’t mean that you have to be too. That’s not going to help anything or anyone.
.
Stand true in who you are and know that not everyone can handle it.
.
No matter how capable they may appear to be, sometimes you’re just too bright for them and that’s okay… those aren’t your people.
.
Eyes on the prize.
.
KEEP SMILING. KEEP SHINING.

Fuck Standing Still

Fuck Standing Still

I’m going to be 30 in a few days. 30 years old, it’s hard to believe. It feels like these past 10 years have flown by. To be honest with you, I’ve always felt older. I’ve always been one of the youngest people in every room most of my adult life. So NO, I’m not freaking out about hitting the big 3-0 like a lot of people keep asking. I’m actually excited.

My Response to Every Situation

My Response to Every Situation

“My Response to every situation is “it’s all good” because even if it isn’t, I’m going to make sure it will be.
I saw this quote on a post this morning and screamed “YES!”
Because it’s true. I’m confident in that statement because I’ve seen me do it.
I have a long list of proof that I am completely capable of making sure that things work out. Tons of evidence that I will always handle my business and make things happen.
So that is why I rarely get worked up anymore. I look at the challenge, the bump in the road and think “Okay universe, I see you. Now let’s get to the solution” and that’s what I do. Adjust where I need to adjust, roll with the punches, and keep pushing through.
But here is the common misconception around this statement “It’s all good”… I say that and people think I just don’t care. Or I’m not concerned. Or I don’t worry about the outcome. Or that I’m so caught up in my own stuff that I don’t see reality.
And you couldn’t be more wrong. Continue reading “My Response to Every Situation”

Born to Fly

Born to Fly

How do you keep your feet on the ground when you KNOW YOU WERE BORN TO FLY?

Well, you try for years. You try to stay grounded and do what’s expected of you. You get the job. You get the house. You date the guy. You get the car.

And then you slip. You just can’t take it anymore and you slip.

You rebel.

You throw them all off.

You take the unbeaten path. Continue reading “Born to Fly”

Be The Change

Be The Change

A mother gets abused, her daughter sees it, she grows up to think that it’s okay…thinking that behavior is okay. She swears she’ll never be treated that way but then she does. She gets stuck in a situation and she’s abused. She’s reliving her moms “mistakes”. The cycle continues…

Right? Or at least that’s what we’ve always been told. Continue reading “Be The Change”
