You Are Not An Island

You Are Not An Island

Sometimes I feel like things are just swirling around me. Like there’s no place for it to land. Like there is always a judgement or agendas attached to it all. Or more like I’m combating that and working to debunk them all as they arise.

You may have heard me mention this before but something I am insanely proud of is the level of self awareness I have cultivated over the years. In that I’m able to acknowledge things so much quicker than ever before and It allows me to process through things almost in real time versus having the “aftermath”.

Want Unlimited Inspiration?

Want Unlimited Inspiration?

Be your own motivation.

I feel like it’s far too rare that we acknowledge our own successes, our own strengths, our own magic, our own glow, our own beauty, our own purpose.

We look outside of ourselves for too much. We’re always searching for answers, for motivation, for inspiration, for approval and I’m not saying that’s always a bad thing but what I am saying is that it seems that most generally, people only do that. They always are searching outside.

You know where I learned the truest of true magic and value and answers lie?

Inside of me.

Reflection

Reflection

Something I do every day like clock work is look at my history. The memories on Facebook are cool and I like to see them and be motivated by my own previous content but man, my history on Snapchat stories is where it’s at.

Whole Picture

Whole Picture

What if I told you I can give you ass pats and high fives AND hold you to a high standard of accountability?

Did you know that both of these things are possible to give and/or receive within the same conversation?

Crazy right?

My Photo on the Refrigerator

My Photo on the Refrigerator

I keep this photo on my refrigerator door so I see it every day.

Not because that’s my goal body like most people would assume. (It’s pre-boob job and pre-squat for the booty so no, trust me it’s not my goal body)

I keep it there as a reminder of when I first got a taste of TRUE FREEDOM.

I’m 18 years old in this picture. Standing on the beach in San Diego.
This was the first time I had traveled alone.
The first time I put my toes in the Pacific Ocean.
The first time I had traveled West at all actually. Continue reading “My Photo on the Refrigerator”

Let Yourself Have It

Let Yourself Have It

I’ve written before about daydreaming… about allowing yourself time every day to picture your life with the things you see in your dreams. Picturing life the way you “see it” when you’re talking about the vision you have for your life. Maybe when you think about it or talk about it, you’re talking like it’s never actually going to happen…

But what if you allowed yourself to think that it CAN happen? That is IS possible? Continue reading “Let Yourself Have It”

Be Honest And Clear

Be Honest And Clear

Almost 3 years ago I moved out of my boyfriend’s house.

After living together for over a year and halfway into our second year together, he dropped a huge bomb on me. Something that would have ended most relationships.

He told me that even though he has said he wanted to have more children, the more he thought about it, he realized that he did not. It was not an option for him.

You see, he is 19 years older than me. He has two grown children and a granddaughter, so it’s understandable that he wouldn’t want any more.

But I was blown away when he said this to me, for many reasons. Continue reading “Be Honest And Clear”

Hero of the Story

16649151_10154898805820797_7240505634582737800_nI’ve always been quick to love and when I love, I give my everything. I remember being around 19 years old, feeling heartbroken and disappointed yet again by some guy who wasn’t man enough to be what I needed in a partner (or whatever that looked like to my 19 year old self).

Each time this happened, it pushed me to build what I wanted and be dependent on no one for anything. I got stronger every single time. My skin got thicker and it was at that age that I first fell in love with this quote:

I am the hero of this story, I don’t need to be saved.
