As you know, I’m all about getting shit done and maximizing your performance. Yes, we can talk about strategies and plans and procedures to get you there. BUT here’s the thing, one of the MOST IMPORTANT things you can do to be a high performer and an overall HAPPIER person, is take control of how you spend your mornings.
Yep, you guessed it… you need to nail down a Morning Routine! Continue reading “My Most Important Tool”
I’ve written before about daydreaming… about allowing yourself time every day to picture your life with the things you see in your dreams. Picturing life the way you “see it” when you’re talking about the vision you have for your life. Maybe when you think about it or talk about it, you’re talking like it’s never actually going to happen…
But what if you allowed yourself to think that it CAN happen? That is IS possible? Continue reading “Let Yourself Have It”
Almost 3 years ago I moved out of my boyfriend’s house.
After living together for over a year and halfway into our second year together, he dropped a huge bomb on me. Something that would have ended most relationships.
He told me that even though he has said he wanted to have more children, the more he thought about it, he realized that he did not. It was not an option for him.
You see, he is 19 years older than me. He has two grown children and a granddaughter, so it’s understandable that he wouldn’t want any more.
But I was blown away when he said this to me, for many reasons. Continue reading “Be Honest And Clear”
I’ve always been quick to love and when I love, I give my everything. I remember being around 19 years old, feeling heartbroken and disappointed yet again by some guy who wasn’t man enough to be what I needed in a partner (or whatever that looked like to my 19 year old self).
Each time this happened, it pushed me to build what I wanted and be dependent on no one for anything. I got stronger every single time. My skin got thicker and it was at that age that I first fell in love with this quote:
Business women are starting to look a lot different than what you’re used to.
We wear yoga pants and comfy shoes to the airport.
We come equipped with nice handbags and you’ll never catch us without a power pack for our devices.
Yes, we’re always on our phones but we’re not just texting our girlfriends or cruising social media.. We’re making deals, connections, and money with every strike of our thumbs.
We travel alone with confidence. Continue reading “Business Women”
Sometimes it really hurts when the people around you don’t grow with you. It can hurt your heart to hear that someone is stuck in a place of pain or resentment or unable to open themselves enough to move forward.
I used to think that line was bullshit. But I’ve changed so I am proof that it’s possible and it happens everyday.
How do you change? Change for the better? Continue reading “Shine The Light”
Lately, every morning I have to remind myself that The King Eats First.
I’ve spent the majority of my life pleasing others. I have always been the rebellious one, but on the flip side I am the nurturer, the caregiver, the mama bear to everyone. Continue reading “The King Eats First”
I always wanted to be known for who I am, not for whose arm I’m standing on.
Being a young girl in business, I always had to be very aware of how I was being portrayed to my colleagues. I wanted to be known for my skill set and the quality of work I provided, not for my appearance. This was always fresh in my mind and the reputation I build in my industry was very important to me. Continue reading “Time to be completely RAW…”
Every year I go into my doctors office for a check up at the end of September. Last year, I was in a serious transition in my life at that time.
I had recently left my 7 year stint with one business. I poured my heart and soul into that business because I thought it was my future.
Well, I was wrong. Continue reading “Where have you been this year?”
Upstander: A person who stands up for his or her beliefs. A person who does what they think is right, even if they are alone. A person who is not a bystander.
As I was getting all settled in and cozy in my seat on the plane, heading to yet another exciting adventure when I glanced over and saw this word again….UPSTANDER. Continue reading “UPSTANDER”
