Whole Picture

Whole Picture

What if I told you I can give you ass pats and high fives AND hold you to a high standard of accountability?

Did you know that both of these things are possible to give and/or receive within the same conversation?

Crazy right?

Seasonal Purge

Seasonal Purge

I don’t know about you but lately I’ve been feeling almost like my “things” are all caving in on me.

I don’t really think that I’ve actually acquired that much new stuff since the last time I went through and purged to create more space but somehow, it does feel that way.

No Explanation

No Explanation

Recently a client brought up a thing that I had said a couple of years ago when I was making a large life choice that made everyone in my world VERY uncomfortable…. “I don’t owe anyone an explanation other than-‘Because I want to’“.

It took me back into the space I was in when I learned that lesson for the first time.

Are you apologizing for your success?

Are you apologizing for your success?

When did it become so normal to apologize for our success? Frankly, we apologize for entirely too much. So much so that the value of the words “I’m sorry” doesn’t really hold much merit in a lot of situations.

When did “I’m not available at that time, I’m sorry” become the way we all auto respond to things that don’t fit specifically into someone else’s request?

Whelp- It’s all very ass backwards if you ask me and it’s time it starts to shift.

Whirlwind

Whirlwind

Last week I found myself sitting in a quiet room housed within a building that was created in 1875 alongside the river in a small town that feels like it had to be here when America first started.

I knew I had a deadline that I was already past to deliver the latest podcast episode and then it dawned on me that I did not bring my ‘podcast notebook’ with me.

Shit. Now what?

Energy Exchange

Energy Exchange

More and more frequently I’ve found myself in conversations with various people from all different walks of life about things they’re noticing make them feel overly drained or zoned out.

One of my friends said “I always feel like I’m more dumb and a zombie after scrolling”.

I went on to explain to her how normal that actually is (these days at least) and how it’s actually a massive exchange of energy that’s happening that we’re really not recognizing, therefore not making different choices OR giving that action the space it deserves without draining the life out of you.

Real Security

Real Security

Security. What does it really mean to you? Have you ever thought about it? Where does it come from? How do we create it? Or can we truly ever have it?

There are a lot of questions posed by this word that many have never taken the time to think about before.

Sometimes we go through life grasping for things that make us feel just a little safer or we create defense mechanisms that we think give us security. Is that kind of safety and security actually a ruse?

This topic was brought up to me recently in terms of what I help people build in the form of a solid foundation within themselves and their businesses. And man, was it a cool moment on seeing another layer to this practice. Continue reading “Real Security”

What You Track

What You Track

We all seem to want more of something… but maybe it feels like an empty desire. One that’s fun to say but doesn’t seem at all like it could ever be a reality. OR maybe it feels sad or discouraging because nothing ever seems to work out right.

There’s never enough money or time or progress… What if I told you that you could flip that narrative and start actually getting more?

Well– what you track… grows.

Greatest Gift

Greatest Gift

A while back I got a suggestion to record something talking about my biggest “ah-ha moment” and as I thought about it, a bunch of things popped into my head. As I was revisiting it one stuck out more than the others.

Honestly, this has been a moment that birthed a thousand more and is something that I will forever be grateful for.

Have you ever had one of those moments where you hear something and then something inside of you just clicks? That’s what this moment was.

I was listening to Gary Vee speak at his book launch for the #askgaryvee book and something he said sparked a curiosity in me that’s been very much alive ever since. Continue reading “Greatest Gift”

High Performers

High Performers

I remember being told that balance didn’t exist. That if I wanted to truly build something I just had to keep my head down and do the work.

Good thing I don’t always follow instructions because that would have never worked. When I did try to operate that way back when I was working a “day job”, it landed me in the hospital more times than one.

The truth is, craving that balance has led me down one of the best paths I could have imagined and as a result, I get to share it with other people so that they can have it too. Continue reading “High Performers”
