One Of The Best Gifts I’ve Been Given

Permission to exhale in the most non-elegant or “abnormal” fashion when breathing into my body has proven to be one of the best gifts I’ve been given.

You listen to guided meditations and watch your yoga instructor or favorite guide and they look so exquisite with slow controlled exhales, that’s all you are taught to do. That’s what you try to mimic in your own practice, never knowing that there might actually be another way, a more helpful way to release.

I think there is a definite time and place for slow controlled exhales, I still use that technique all the time, several times a day in order to reset my thinking, lessen my pain, or calm my nerves or feelings or emotions. Continue reading “One Of The Best Gifts I’ve Been Given”

Where There is a Will There is a Way

“I literally just put a lidocaine patch on my ass cheek so I could actually finish cleaning this house without limping.”

Yes. That is an actual text I sent to a friend yesterday.

Why? Because I’ve been going really fucking hard for 3 days straight and my body hates me.

Real talk though, I forgot that no one knows about my past injuries. You can’t see them, so nobody is aware but I have permanent damage in my back and knee. Nauseous

Nauseous

Real talk: I’m nauseous constantly.

I wake up nauseous and have to literally talk myself out of puking every morning. Thank God I’m as mentally strong as I am. Until about a year ago I DID actually puke every morning because I woke up with my blood sugar so out of wack. I have made major improvements in my quality of life over the past couple of years by systems of trial and error and figuring out what makes me feel the best.
