Expansion

Expansion

This girl had no idea what the “idea” she was toying with at that time could turn out to be.

The beginning of living life differently and accepting all of it.
The beginning of living life differently and accepting all of it.

Being whisked away to South Beach, staying in fancy hotels, having people wait on us at the beach, buying custom made hand-beaded dresses for fancy events, sitting poolside at one of the most expensive properties in Miami, eating amazing food every second possible.

I remember feeling like it was all surreal. Awesome, but surreal.

Little did I know that that was just the beginning. The beginning of living life differently and accepting all of it. Continue reading “Expansion”

Bleeding

Bleeding

Ladies, I stopped using the word “period” to describe my monthly cycle and you should too.

Did you know that period is short for what doctors would describe as a “periodic illness”?

Yes, you read that right.
Our monthly cycle, something so natural, something that quite literally creates life was referred to as a periodic ILLNESS by medical professionals, thus leading to us calling this natural thing we do, “our period”.

Say what?! Continue reading “Bleeding”

Why We Practice

Why We Practice

I was finishing a book the other day and it promoted this insane overwhelming feeling of gratitude. One small statement caused me to go into deep thought about intentional living and why it works.

The statement: “This is why we practice”

Mindfulness mainly but all areas fit under the umbrella really.

I AM A PRIORITY

I AM A PRIORITY

Every Monday afternoon I have a video chat with my Therapist.

Once a month I meet with my Psychiatrist.

I also work with an Intuitive Coach and other healers regularly for different things.

My mental health matters to me.
My emotional health is a priority.
I am a priority. Continue reading “I AM A PRIORITY”

Being Present

Being Present

You owe it to yourself… and everyone else in your life.

In a world where we’re always connected and plugged in, being present is something we really need to make a priority.

In episode 4 of my podcast we go deeper into the conversation of how to turn off the auto-response, to stop going through the motions, and instead begin to live as an active member of your life.  Continue reading “Being Present”

Physical Space

Physical Space

Feeling scrambled? Maybe flustered even?
Down about yourself? Or a little like you’re lost?

Look around you, at your physical space…
Your bedroom
The kitchen
Your office space
Dining room
Living room

How does it look?
More importantly, how does it FEEL?

If it’s cluttered, stuff stacked everywhere, dust piled up, nothing in the room that makes you smile or feel joy… then I suggest you start there. Continue reading “Physical Space”

You Are Not An Island

You Are Not An Island

You are not an island.

Feeling that way is a choice. A choice that is ultimately yours to make but in the grand scheme of things isn’t going to get you anywhere… besides digging yourself deeper into your own hole.

Open your eyes, I bet there is someone standing nearby who genuinely cares in an unbiased way. Let them see you. Let them come stand next to you. They aren’t there to save you. They aren’t there to judge or have any personal agenda at all actually. In fact, they are probably the one who is not saying much at all right now, just standing there holding space even when you can can’t understand how or why they would even still be there in the first place. Continue reading “You Are Not An Island”

Rosary

Rosary

I prayed the rosary today for the first time in 10 years.

Yep, the entire thing, all 5 decades. The joyful mysteries. On my Grandma’s rosary that she prayed with every night, using the guide book she used. Those items have been sitting in my night stand drawer since she died… each place I’ve lived since she passed, I moved then with me in my night stand. Today, I felt called to use them.

And before that I was writing my gratitude in a journal in order to fully raise my vibration. Continue reading “Rosary”

Life Has Been Really Loud Lately

Life Has Been Really Loud Lately

The heat kicks on in this house and it’s like you turned on a white noise machine. Chandler hates it because it means he has to turn up the TV to hear his shows, but I actually find it super comforting, especially in the morning before anyone else is awake. It’s like a barrier of sound that muffles everything just a little bit, just enough for me to refocus my thoughts when life gets a little too loud.

And guys, let me tell you life has been really damn loud lately. A lot has been happening that I couldn’t have planned for if I was Merlin himself but as I sit here this morning reflecting back on how life has been transpiring lately and looking to what this week has in store, I can honestly say that through it all, I’ve stayed surprisingly calm.
