Delegation

Delegation

When your team becomes your family. ❤

It’s been such an interesting ride in building a virtual business these past 6 years. I remember when the thought of working with a coach or subcontractor that I’d never met before felt so foreign, or temporary.

Looking back I realize that due to the way I originally learned that business was “supposed” to be, that is where those beliefs came from.

“Good help is hard to find”
“Finding someone who is reliable is almost impossible”
“Sometimes you just need to find a warm body to fill the chair”

These are all things that I’m sure we’ve all heard a time or two when working in a management position or owning a business. These are things that we believe to be true because, well that’s what everyone says is true. Continue reading “Delegation”

Office Space

Office Space

“Jamie, you live alone and your clients are virtual… why do you pay for an office space??”

Well, “because I can” is my initial response to that question.

BUT I’ll give you a little more insight on how this choice helps me and could possibly help you too!

I have a few days a week that are heavy call days, ones in which I spend a lot of intentional effort to be in a very specific state of mind so I’m showing up the best for my peeps… and myself!

Those mornings I get up and do my killer morning routine, spend time with my pup, get all dressed up and ready for the day then head to my office space for the day.

True Freedom

True Freedom

Be willing to do the inner work, the deep healing work.

I mean looking under every rock, under every excuse you’ve ever made, under every lie you’ve ever told, under every pattern you’ve ever repeated, on every ounce of self-doubt or fear or negative thought you have about yourself. It means looking under every moment that sticks out to you at all.

It’s listening to your inner voice while being self-aware enough to recognize when your subconscious is trying to battle you with intentions that no longer serve you and then being willing to shine a flashlight into the darkness and uncover why.

It’s not pretty. Continue reading “True Freedom”

The Work Comes First

The Work Comes First

THE WORK COMES FIRST.

Yes, you have freedom. Yes, you have balance. Yes, you run your own business, Yippee!

But you guys… you don’t get to go enjoy them if you’re NOT DOING THE WORK, not if you want to keep them at least.

The work must come first.

I’m not saying it’s the most important thing… well, maybe I am. Continue reading “The Work Comes First”

Freedom

Freedom

Wednesday I booked a flight. Thursday I jumped on a plane.

I landed in Vegas without much of a plan. I knew I needed to drive to some small town in the middle of the desert by Friday morning but that’s it. That’s all I knew.

I didn’t know a time.
I didn’t know the place to meet.
I didn’t know where I was going to sleep or what to expect.

And for the girl who always has a super detailed plan, this was weird… at first. BUT the moment I sat on that plane I felt something different…. I felt FREE.

And that feeling stayed all weekend. I felt completely free. Continue reading “Freedom”

Build Your Empire

Build Your Empire

“Build Your Empire”… WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??
I say it a lot, I’m not going to lie. But I was just thinking about it today and I wonder if anyone actually knows what it means.

It’s thrown around… A LOT.

Like “hustle” and “authentic”, it’s become a super sexy phrase to use. But just like those other words its meaning has gotten twisted.

Or has it?

Because let’s be real, HUSTLE means something totally different to me than it does to other people. I still use the word but not in the context that a lot of people do now. I hustle out work every day, but on my terms. That doesn’t mean I’m hunched over a desk in a dark room miserable for 12 hours a day.

Am I working 12 hours a day? Ya sometimes. But it’s in the car. On the patio. In my bed snuggled with my pups. It’s at the coffee shop. In the line at the grocery store. Sitting at a table sipping wine. Continue reading “Build Your Empire”

My Photo on the Refrigerator

My Photo on the Refrigerator

I keep this photo on my refrigerator door so I see it every day.

Not because that’s my goal body like most people would assume. (It’s pre-boob job and pre-squat for the booty so no, trust me it’s not my goal body)

I keep it there as a reminder of when I first got a taste of TRUE FREEDOM.

I’m 18 years old in this picture. Standing on the beach in San Diego.
This was the first time I had traveled alone.
The first time I put my toes in the Pacific Ocean.
The first time I had traveled West at all actually. Continue reading “My Photo on the Refrigerator”

What Living Life on Purpose Looks Like to me

What Living Life on Purpose Looks Like to me

A big part of “Living Life on Purpose” looks like this to me.

Working from where ever I choose, whenever I choose to.

The two most important things to me are Continue reading “What Living Life on Purpose Looks Like to me”

Eyes on the Big Picture

Eyes on the Big Picture

Why do you work so much? Why are you married to your business? How is that REALLY worth it?

Well first off… It’s more worth it than words can explain. Imagine being able to pour your heart into something and watch it actually work, actually become exactly what you designed in your brain. And not only does it work but it’s changing people’s lives… which in turn is changing my life every single day.

Why do I work so hard? I don’t know how else to be, honestly. I come from a long line of hard workers. It’s in my blood. I can’t help it. When I commit to something, I’m just that: Committed.

But why do I work so hard at my business in particular? Continue reading “Eyes on the Big Picture”
