You Are Not An Island

You Are Not An Island

Sometimes I feel like things are just swirling around me. Like there’s no place for it to land. Like there is always a judgement or agendas attached to it all. Or more like I’m combating that and working to debunk them all as they arise.

You may have heard me mention this before but something I am insanely proud of is the level of self awareness I have cultivated over the years. In that I’m able to acknowledge things so much quicker than ever before and It allows me to process through things almost in real time versus having the “aftermath”.

Want Unlimited Inspiration?

Want Unlimited Inspiration?

Be your own motivation.

I feel like it’s far too rare that we acknowledge our own successes, our own strengths, our own magic, our own glow, our own beauty, our own purpose.

We look outside of ourselves for too much. We’re always searching for answers, for motivation, for inspiration, for approval and I’m not saying that’s always a bad thing but what I am saying is that it seems that most generally, people only do that. They always are searching outside.

You know where I learned the truest of true magic and value and answers lie?

Inside of me.

Reflection

Reflection

Something I do every day like clock work is look at my history. The memories on Facebook are cool and I like to see them and be motivated by my own previous content but man, my history on Snapchat stories is where it’s at.

Reflections

Reflections

I’ve noticed that I tend to write things a few days later than most. I used to think that meant I wasn’t planning ahead enough or once I missed the “day” then it would be stupid to post about the holiday or event. (Big Reflection–Dive In with me below)

The truth is, I don’t write about them before because I haven’t experienced them yet. I don’t know how I’ll feel or how it will go until it’s actually happened.

Also, I’m pleased to realize that it’s also because I’m actually freaking present during holidays and events or hangouts so typing about it doesn’t even cross my mind. Not even the morning of or evening after usually either. And that is something I’m super grateful for.

So here it comes friends, my post about 2020. Continue reading “Reflections”

Educating Myself

Educating Myself

As I sit down to do my planning this week, I’m doing things a little differently and so should you.

Every Sunday for, well like 10+ years I have sat down to plan out my week. At one point it was a necessity because I had like 5 jobs to keep track of, now it’s a non-negotiable because I prioritize balance above all else.

You see, I make sure there is space for clients, for work, for writing, for moving my body, for preparing my meals, for spending time with my loved ones, for learning, for being outside, for working through my apprenticeship, and this week I’m adding in specific hours to educate myself deeper on the systemic racism in this country. True Freedom

True Freedom

Be willing to do the inner work, the deep healing work.

I mean looking under every rock, under every excuse you’ve ever made, under every lie you’ve ever told, under every pattern you’ve ever repeated, on every ounce of self-doubt or fear or negative thought you have about yourself. It means looking under every moment that sticks out to you at all.

It’s listening to your inner voice while being self-aware enough to recognize when your subconscious is trying to battle you with intentions that no longer serve you and then being willing to shine a flashlight into the darkness and uncover why.

It’s not pretty. Continue reading “True Freedom”

You’ll Wish You Had Started Today

You’ll Wish You Had Started Today

Recently I was journaling and reflecting on how a year ago I started a layer. And a year before that I started a different layer. And the year before that… etc.

FOUR YEARS AGO I STARTED.

Four years ago, while sitting on an airplane with a crushed hand, on the way home from a totally VIP rockstar trip to Vegas, I sat there with a pad of paper and an idea. Continue reading “You’ll Wish You Had Started Today”
