Overspent Energy

Overspent Energy

I overspent my energy this week.

It doesn’t mean I overbooked or was too “busy” because that is actually a very different thing.

A while back my therapist told me about how she plans her week, which of course being the planner enthusiast that I am, I was all ears for some insight on how someone else does it. One thing that she explained is how she budgets her energy between the different responsibilities she has. Meaning she determined how many clients she was going to see that week/day based on the other obligations or activities she was going to have as well. She wanted to make sure she wasn’t spending all of her allotted energy on work, leaving an empty tank for her family when she got home. Continue reading “Overspent Energy”

The Ripple Effect

The Ripple Effect

How often do you think about the ripple effect?

The ripple effect that comes from every interaction you have throughout your day. The ripple effect of every move, every word, every smile, every internal thought.

The impact that you are making within yourself and the world that surrounds you is way larger than you realize. Continue reading “The Ripple Effect”

Helping People

Helping People

I can’t remember the exact last moment that I realized the frustration I was feeling from this specific instance or recurring question was absolutely a truth and absolutely a result of my own actions (as all results tend to be) but I do remember that it shifted something. The notice that I was getting aggravated by a fact that actually made perfect sense, given the circumstances.

Workout Consistency

Workout Consistency

Truth is, I know the right way to stand to look the most flattering in a photo. I know the angles and what works best for my frame. So, when I started taking the daily progress photo for the #75Hard challenge it was a bit off-putting at first.

Like “whoa, that’s not now I look in photos.” Um, actually YES that IS what you look like in photos, without flexing or posing. I can’t wait to post before and afters when this is all said and done but for now, it’s day 7 and I’ve already started to see a difference. Continue reading “Workout Consistency”

Recommit

Recommit
During the weeks approaching the new year, there is a lot of pressure out there to make the right choice when it comes to goals. It seems like the majority is saying that if you don’t make massive goals then you’re not going to achieve any growth and/or success.
The pressure gets louder than the purpose and as a result, a lot of us are left feeling overwhelmed, like we’re not doing enough, and a bit hopeless.

75 Hard Challenge

75 Hard Challenge

I’ve contemplated doing this silently for a while. I’ve started it several times and barely made it a week without missing something on the list… but nobody knew so it was okay.

Bullshit.

I knew.

I knew that I missed a mark and started over day after day. At first, I was proud of myself for starting over and not beating myself up about it, but then I realized that was bullshit too. The fact is, I wasn’t committed. Which is I wasn’t following through. So I stopped re-starting but it’s still been on my mind. Like “when am I going to start again?” had been in the back of my thoughts ever since. Continue reading “75 Hard Challenge”
