Here’s what I know to be true…

Here’s what I know to be true….

You’re never sent down a path you’re not meant to travel.

Even if said path is a total out of the blue left turn, if it’s where you’re feeling called to go, trust me when I say take that damn path! Because what you can’t see yet is where it’s taking you and more importantly, WHY.

That paths sole purpose may be meant to wipe the slate clean, rip the remaining layers back, strip you down into this creature that had been fighting to get out, and then circle you back to what your soul longed for all along. Continue reading “Here’s what I know to be true…”

Don’t Assume You Know Shit About Shit

Don’t Assume You Know Shit About Shit

Once upon a time, I made a choice to not talk about my relationship publicly as I was starting to grow my business online and here’s why;

Because I refused to use his name and status in this city as a means to get business.

Yep. I knew that he had hundreds of connections with the business community that could have benefited from my services and expertise and he would have GLADLY made the introductions but I didn’t want to be hired simply because I was “Tony Twist’s Girlfriend”. So, while the fact that we were in a relationship was in no way a secret, I chose not to exploit it because it was very important to me that I built my business and clientele based on MY own reputation and MY own ability. Not to mention that contrary to popular assumptions, I could care less about his hockey history. That’s never been a part of our relationship.

Flash forward 5 years or so and I just heard about someone still claiming that “He funds her life”. Continue reading “Don’t Assume You Know Shit About Shit”

Office Space

Office Space

“Jamie, you live alone and your clients are virtual… why do you pay for an office space??”

Well, “because I can” is my initial response to that question.

BUT I’ll give you a little more insight on how this choice helps me and could possibly help you too!

I have a few days a week that are heavy call days, ones in which I spend a lot of intentional effort to be in a very specific state of mind so I’m showing up the best for my peeps… and myself!

Those mornings I get up and do my killer morning routine, spend time with my pup, get all dressed up and ready for the day then head to my office space for the day.

Fuck Standing Still

Fuck Standing Still

I’m going to be 30 in a few days. 30 years old, it’s hard to believe. It feels like these past 10 years have flown by. To be honest with you, I’ve always felt older. I’ve always been one of the youngest people in every room most of my adult life. So NO, I’m not freaking out about hitting the big 3-0 like a lot of people keep asking. I’m actually excited.

Always Sick…

Always Sick…

“Skinny fat”… it’s a thing. It’s a thing no one thinks is a problem… and for some, maybe it’s not…but for me it was a BIG problem.

I was always sick.
I had no energy.
I had zero strength.
I could eat more than most grown men I knew but never gained a pound.

I remember seeing the picture on the left right after it was taken and being embarrassed (see bottom of post). That “skinny minnie” look everyone always said they were so jealous of was NOT how I wanted to look. Not even a little bit… but I didn’t know anything else was possible.

After many years of rapidly losing weight, never feeling good, more doctors appointments than I can count, passing out several times in public because my body shut down, and more hospital stays than I cared to have in a lifetime, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Love Bravely

Love Bravely

As I switched to the new month on my calendar a few days ago I saw these words “LOVE BRAVELY” and they stopped me dead in my tracks.

What a truly accurate statement that is. It’s the encouragement that everyone should be given when it comes to loving. Love Bravely.

Because the act of truly LOVING is that of bravery. Continue reading “Love Bravely”
