Wednesdays

“On Wednesdays we wear pink!”

No, I’m just kidding… Well, maybe sometimes I do but that’s not my point. While I was creating my latest podcast episode I just kept saying that in my head the entire time, haha. Insert your favorite Mean Girls quote here! Continue reading “Wednesdays”

Sometimes I Miss Being An Operations Manager

Sometimes I Miss Being An Operations Manager

Sometimes I miss being an Operations Manager.

It was a job that I rose to pretty quickly and honestly, thrived at.

Not to toot my own horn or anything but I am REALLY good at managing businesses.

I still do a lot of that within the scope of coaching with many of my clients now and I’m not saying I don’t love it, because I do. I love helping people with the whole picture. Their business reflects on their personal lives, it always does. It reflects on them, on how they are treating themselves just as much as how well they are “managing” the biz. And being able to not only create the balance, but keep it is something I truly do love. It’s a gift that I am forever grateful for. Continue reading “Sometimes I Miss Being An Operations Manager”

Juggle

Juggle

Let’s be real, life is always a lot to juggle.

And sometimes trying to stay on top of it all just feels….impossible.

Then you add in all of the things that are happening in the world lately and it just makes it feel even bigger, even more daunting almost.

Learning how to navigate things in these new and different times hasn’t been easy for anyone, whether we care to admit it or not. Things are different. Intentions are different. Proactive behavior has become more necessary than ever and sometimes that feels like a mountain to climb. Continue reading “Juggle”

Unplug

Unplug

Unplug… I used to say “disconnect” but let’s be real… Disconnect? How NOT nourishing does that sound?!

The whole point of the act of turning everything off is to refill my cup, to rejuvenate, to reconnect with myself, my voice, my body, my soul. And how can you do that if you’re labeling the experience something so cold in the first place?

No wonder it was never working… And I had been trying the “disconnect” method for MONTHS with no change… So, disconnect went out the door and UNPLUG came in. Continue reading “Unplug”

Toxic Things

Toxic Things

“It wasn’t the toxic things I was putting in my body, it was the toxic STUFF I had in my life.” On one of the hangouts, I recently hosted, one of my clients made a comment about how when he met me his life was drastically different than it is now. Not only was he unhappy with where he was, he was on medication for severe heartburn and reflux issues. At the time, the doc told him it was the way he was eating so he changed his eating habits but the problem persisted so basically it looked like this was just going to be something he would deal with for life. Building Teams

Building Teams

When your team becomes your family.

It’s been such an interesting ride in building a virtual business these past 5 years. I remember when the thought of working with a coach or subcontractor that I’d never met before felt so foreign, or temporary.

Looking back I realize that due to the way I originally learned that business was “supposed” to be, that is where those beliefs came from.

“Good help is hard to find”
“Finding someone who is reliable is almost impossible”
“Sometimes you just need to find a warm body to fill the chair”

These are all things that I’m sure we’ve all heard a time or two when working in a management position or owning a business. These are things that we believe to be true because, well that’s what everyone says is true.

Be Willing To Bite

Be Willing To Bite

I pull a card from my beautiful friend Jayme Hanna’s deck and this was the message for me.

Be willing to bite.

As I drove home I pondered all of the ways that statement of encouragement rang true in my world right now.

Several days later, the thoughts are still lingering (that’s when you know the message was really meant for you, when it sticks around for a long while).

Recommit

Recommit
During the weeks approaching the new year, there is a lot of pressure out there to make the right choice when it comes to goals. It seems like the majority is saying that if you don’t make massive goals then you’re not going to achieve any growth and/or success.
The pressure gets louder than the purpose and as a result, a lot of us are left feeling overwhelmed, like we’re not doing enough, and a bit hopeless.

75 Hard Challenge

75 Hard Challenge

I’ve contemplated doing this silently for a while. I’ve started it several times and barely made it a week without missing something on the list… but nobody knew so it was okay.

Bullshit.

I knew.

I knew that I missed a mark and started over day after day. At first, I was proud of myself for starting over and not beating myself up about it, but then I realized that was bullshit too. The fact is, I wasn’t committed. Which is I wasn’t following through. So I stopped re-starting but it’s still been on my mind. Like “when am I going to start again?” had been in the back of my thoughts ever since. Continue reading “75 Hard Challenge”

Being Present

Being Present

You owe it to yourself… and everyone else in your life.

In a world where we’re always connected and plugged in, being present is something we really need to make a priority.

In episode 4 of my podcast we go deeper into the conversation of how to turn off the auto-response, to stop going through the motions, and instead begin to live as an active member of your life.  Continue reading “Being Present”
