I know my worth and last year I made a promise to myself that I would no longer allow anyone to be part time (or half-in) in my world. It’s either we’re in it or we’re not.

I’m not a fan of being something that’s only used when it’s convenient.

We don’t do lukewarm over here anymore.

And while I trust myself and honor that choice, it was difficult to implement and enforce at the beginning… until it became one of the most freeing things I’ve ever done.

The thing is, it still sneaks up on me sometimes. Someone I want to be full time or I want to badly believe in shows me really clearly that we’re not on the same page when it comes to what it truly means to be in each others lives, on any level.

That’s when sticking to the rule is hard… because it can mean stepping back from something you wish was different.

But that’s what hurts us the most… not honoring our own boundaries, not staying really fucking true to what we know we want in our world and what we know isn’t acceptable.

Today I had to remind myself that allowing someone to treat you like an inconvenience can only happen with your permission. It’s okay to send those types of relationships packing the moment you recognize it.

It’s the best thing to do but that doesn’t mean it’s the easiest…
